We took the opportunity to enjoy a bank holiday at the Great Dorset Steam Fair, this being the 50th year of the event they were attempting to have 500 engines in steam on the sight to set a world record.
The Event gave us at NewProd Design the opportunity to see some amazing victorian designs, enjoying especially the various interesting mechanisms that are used in the valve timing. Seeing many engines which were the sole surviving of there particular design.
These old designs has proven to be highly influential in our past design work, as we believe it is important to look to the past as well as the future when designing.
